Our May program will feature Barbara Batson, Exhibits Coordinator, from the Library of Virginia. Ms. Batson will tell us about Leslie Garland Bolling, a sculptor from Surry County (1898-1955). He resided in Richmond, VA after graduating from Virginia Union University in 1924.

Ms. Batson has produced exhibits and publications on Mr. Bolling for the Library of Virginia. He began showing his work in the 1930s through sponsorships with the Richmond Academy of Arts, the Valentine Museum, the Harmon Foundation, and Howard University,
